◆ A Distinguished Piece of Southern Thai Buddhist Heritage ◆
This Double-Sema “Buddha Overlay” amulet was created in B.E. 2558 (2015) to support the construction of the Luang Pu Thuat Museum at Wat Chang Hai, the historic temple most closely associated with the revered monk Luang Pu Thuat and the preservation of his legacy.
Designed in the elegant full-frame Kanok Sema style characteristic of Wat Chang Hai, the amulet reflects the refined craftsmanship and artistic traditions that have made Sema amulets among the most admired forms in modern Thai Buddhist numismatic art.
The obverse features a finely detailed portrait of Luang Pu Thuat together with Ajarn Tim, the renowned monk whose amulet creations helped establish the enduring popularity of the Luang Pu Thuat tradition among collectors.
The reverse presents a sacred stupa motif encircled by traditional yantra inscriptions, symbolizing continuity of faith, temple heritage, and the transmission of Buddhist culture through generations.
Struck in Alpaca alloy, the piece exhibits sharp relief, crisp minting details, and excellent preservation, making it an attractive example for both serious collectors and those interested in Thailand’s religious art and cultural history.
Beyond its aesthetic appeal, this edition represents an important chapter in the ongoing preservation of Wat Chang Hai’s heritage, linking contemporary craftsmanship with one of Southern Thailand’s most respected Buddhist traditions.
